What Happened
On September 11, 2025, GBCC discovered that an unauthorized user had accessed GBCC’s accounts at Bill.com, a vendor account management company, and ADP, a payroll management company. Upon learning of the unauthorized access, GBCC immediately contacted both vendors and locked the unauthorized users out of the accounts. GBCC also began an investigation which ultimately revealed that the unauthorized user accessed GBCC’s accounts on September 10, 2025, apparently in an unsuccessful attempt to cause payments to be made from GBCC’s accounts to unauthorized individuals. While in GBCC’s Bill.com and ADP accounts, the unauthorized users may have had access to personal information of a Maine resident, including name, address, and social security number. GBCC is not aware of any evidence that there has been any attempt to misuse the personal information potentially accessed during this incident. GBCC has notified law enforcement of this incident.
