Data Breach Alert: Mercer Global Advisors Inc.

About Mercer Global Advisors Inc.

Mercer Global Advisors Inc., a financial services firm based in Denver, CO, experienced a data breach affecting 661 individuals, including 1 resident of Maine. The breach occurred on May 15, 2025, and was discovered on October 17, 2025. The breach involved an external system hack, compromising personal identifiers combined with other information.

What Happened

Mercer Advisors acquired Tufton Capital on April 30, 2025. The following month, before Tufton Capital’s data could be integrated into Mercer Advisors’ systems, suspicious activity was detected within a segment of Tufton Capital’s computer network. We promptly engaged leading third-party cybersecurity experts to investigate and implement remediation measures. In August 2025, forensic investigators determined that an unauthorized third party accessed a portion of Tufton Capital’s computer network from May 15, 2025 to May 16, 2025. The files impacted by the event were identified and our counsel engaged a data-review firm to analyze those files’ contents for private information. The review was completed in October 2025, and since then we have been diligently working to verify accurate contact information for notifying impacted individuals.

The breach affected systems managed by Tufton Capital Management, with unauthorized access occurring from May 15, 2025, to May 16, 2025. Mercer Advisors detected suspicious activity and took immediate action, affecting personal information of those involved.
