North Metro Harness Initiative, LLC, operating as Running Aces (“RA”), recently experienced a data breach that compromised the personal information of thousands of individuals. Located in Coumbus, MA, RA discovered the breach after several months had passed since the initial incident. Legal counsel, Adam Chaudry, has been handling the situation. The breach, which involved a hacking incident on an external system, affected a total of 17,937 people, including three Maine residents.
What Happened
On or about August 12, 2025, North Metro Harness Initiative, LLC dba Running Aces (“RA”) became aware that it had experienced a data security incident. As part of our incident response protocols, we promptly launched an investigation, notified law enforcement, engaged a national cybersecurity firm to assist in assessing the scope of the incident and took steps to mitigate the potential impact to our community. Unfortunately, these types of incidents are becoming increasingly common and organizations with some of the most sophisticated IT infrastructure available continue to be affected. A third-party forensic investigation determined the incident occurred from approximately July 27, 2025 to August 14, 2025.
The breach impacted 17,937 individuals, with the incident occurring between July 27, 2025, and August 14, 2025. RA discovered the breach on November 17, 2025, potentially exposing sensitive personal information.

Affected users are recommended to remain vigilant by monitoring their account statements and credit reports for any unauthorized activity. RA has taken steps to enhance its security measures to prevent future incidents. Users who suspect fraudulent activity should contact law enforcement or financial institutions immediately. Additionally, RA has provided resources for identity theft protection and encourages users to take advantage of these services.
Identity Theft Protection Services
RA is offering complimentary identity theft protection services through Experian IdentityWorks. This includes credit monitoring, identity restoration support, and identity theft insurance. Impacted individuals can enroll in these services without needing a credit card, providing them with access to daily credit reports, fraud monitoring across major credit bureaus, and extensive identity restoration assistance. The service also includes $1 million in identity theft insurance to cover certain costs associated with unauthorized electronic fund transfers.
