What Happened

On or around September 9, 2025, SLC became aware of suspicious activity within its Share Point. SLC launched an investigation and determined that between September 4, 2025 and September 9, 2025, an unauthorized actor accessed one user’s Share Point and potentially accessed certain files within the account. Although SLC has no evidence of any identity theft or fraud occurring in connection with this incident, SLC conducted a review of the files within the account to confirm the information contained therein, and to whom it relates for purposes of providing notice. This review was recently completed.

This breach involved unauthorized access to a user’s Share Point account between September 4 and September 9, 2025. Sensitive data such as names and Social Security numbers were potentially accessed. The breach affected individuals associated with the college.

Following the breach, Sarah Lawrence College quickly initiated an investigation to evaluate the security of its systems and identify those potentially affected.
